Artisphere has partnered with The Studio Visit (TSV), a non-profit web journal focused on contemporary arts, to invite local artists Reuben Breslar, Rachel England and Samuel Scharf to occupy the Work In Progress Gallery for four weeks. The three participating artists will take turns responding to the space and each other’s work. With alternating weekly interactive visits to the gallery, the responses will vary from painting, to sculpture, to performance—creating a site-specific collaboration. Throughout the duration of the show, the public is invited to participate in two critiques/discussions. The curator, Victoria Greising, will host these events. Marco : Polo is in essence, a dialogue and a conversation between the artists and curator, the space (as the art object) and the viewers. The entire process will be documented and featured on TSV’s website in a collaborative editorial of video, photography and written article.
