Around the Table: Virtual Cooking with Rock Recovery & Immigrant Food
Date and Time for this Past Event
- Friday, Nov 20, 2020 6:30pm - 8pm 6:30-8 p.m.
Looking for a safe way to have some fun and connect with the community? Gather around the (virtual) table with local nonprofit, Rock Recovery, and enjoy a fun night of cooking and community with DC's popular restaurant, Immigrant Food!
Your kit includes all the ingredients needed to make two large arepas plus the fillings (one chicken, one vegetarian). You can even add a Venezuelan beer to your kit purchase! Ticket's start at $75 for residents in the DC Metro region.
You and your friends can practice your cooking skills while you hear powerful stories of how sharing meals has helped Rock Recovery program graduates heal from eating disorders. In this interactive virtual cooking event, Immigrant Food Kitchen Head and Venezuelan native, Mile Montezuma, along with Communications Director, Téa Ivanovic, will walk you through an authentic arepas cooking experience.
Proceeds from the event will support Rock Recovery's clinical, eating disorder therapy programs and nationwide community support services, so that more people can get the life-saving care they need to break free from their eating disorder and enjoy more meals in community.
