Join the Kennedy Center in a celebration of dance & movement!

As part of National Dance Day and the Kennedy Center's 2021 Millennium Stage Summer Series, the LENS installation is coming to The REACH at the Kennedy Center on Saturday, September 18. A series of four movement-based installations each viewed through different technological means, LENS was created and produced by Ben Levine in collaboration with over two dozen artists from the DMV and across the US.

LENS Details

Featuring both live and digital performance, audience perspectives are reshaped with the use of infrared goggles, binoculars, virtual reality headsets, and a 360-degree projection installation. Performance specific credits details can be found here.

One performance in particular, howeverlong, features three duets meant to be witnessed from as far away as possible. This performance will take place at Rosslyn's View of DC, viewed through binoculars from The Reach.

This event is free to attend, but tickets are currently sold out. With performances every hour beginning at 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. on September 18, keep an eye on the event page for ticket cancellations and walk-up availability.

LENS is made possible thanks to the support of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Projects, Events, or Festivals Grant program; Aunt Karen’s Farm; Dance Place; and Rosslyn BID + JBG Smith (View of DC).
