Moonlight Monument Walk on the Mount Vernon Trail

Join the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail, WalkArlington, and George Washington Memorial Parkway for a nature walk on the Mount Vernon Trail under the glow of the Beaver Moon. You will meet the group at the Theodore Roosevelt Island Parking lot. Once people have gathered, the group will walk south on the Mount Vernon Trail while taking in views from the trail of the monuments at night. Near Memorial Bridge you will stop to learn about the Beaver Moon, explore the planets via a telescope, and look at the stars. Telescopes will be provided!
Inclement Weather:
If it is an overcast night the walk will still occur, but the telescopes won't be available.
In the event of rain, the event will be cancelled and a notification will be sent via e-mail by 5 p.m. the day of the event. Rain date is Monday, Nov. 18.
Things to bring:
- Flashlight (preferably with red light setting).
- Reflective vest if you have one -- they will have some extras.
- Bring layers/dress for the weather.
