According to the nonprofit organization Feeding America, five out of six children who receive meals during the school year will not be able to access them during the summer. To help address this challenge, Nando's is teaming up with the St. Lucy Project to help feed hungry children during the summer break.
Bring your donations to Nando's in Rosslyn, located at 1800 N. Lynn St. (entrance on N. Moore St. across from the Rosslyn Metro). They will go directly to area pantries to help children have healthy breakfasts and lunches this summer regardless of religion, ethnicity or national origin.
Needed items include:
- Single-serve, shelf-stable milk
- Single-serve pasta cups
- Individual fruit cups
- Healthy cereal
- Oatmeal
- Granola bars
- Cheese and peanut butter crackers
