Don’t miss our solar glasses giveaway to view the sun directly (while supplies last).
Register now for this free event and secure your chance to see the solar eclipse – the next one won’t be in the contiguous U.S. until 2044!
By registering for this event, you agree to be added to our Rosslyn BID e-blast subscription list.
A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, obscuring the Sun from a small part of Earth, totally or partially. According to NASA, about 75% of the sun will be blocked from Rosslyn’s view during this year’s solar eclipse, as the DMV area is just south of the path of totality.
With support from NOVAC, the Rosslyn BID is providing a unique viewing experience of the eclipse with a variety of telescopes and monitors. NOVAC strives to provide enjoyment and education to the public through amateur astronomy and is one of the largest clubs in the United States with over 1,100 members.
Scott Dineen, lead singer of The Bob Band, will be bringing an afternoon of music inspired by Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Lady Gaga, and other surprises.
For more family-friendly fun, individuals will have the opportunity to make their own eclipse viewing devices and more when attending this event!
Stay tuned to this page and our Eventbrite page for more details to come!
