Join Synetic Theater for a magic filled event, live from Gateway Park!
Bring the kids and kids-at-heart for a morning of family friendly fun and magic! Through movement, masks, illusions and dance, the Synetic Theater presents, "The Miraculous Magical Balloon," sponsored by the Rosslyn BID.
Join us to watch the story of a traveling actor and his magical trunk, full of toys, tricks and surprises, in Dark Star Park on August 10 and August 24, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. This show is geared toward children 4+ and is free to enjoy! Audience members are encouraged to bring their own seats for the show.
While you're there on August 24, stop by the CaliBurger food truck for Southern California style burgers, chicken and fries (including a vegan line of Beyond Meat burgers). There will also be balloon twisters and fun giveaways, courtesy of the Rosslyn BID. The food truck and balloon twisters will be onsite until 12:30 p.m. for you to enjoy during and after the show.
About this event
Synetic Theater founder, Paata Tsikurishvili, first learned this pantomime show from his master, Igor Romanov, in Georgia 45 years ago years ago and first performed it with Irina in 1996 at the Kennedy Center. It has become a staple of their outreach and educational programming, and this year they're taking it off the stage and into the great outdoors.
