Congratulations, Arlington!

Amazon chooses Arlington and New York City for major new outposts

(November 13) This morning, Amazon.com Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos announced that Amazon.com would be opening a major outpost in Arlington County's Crystal City and another in New York City, splitting "HQ2" between the two locations. A new Center for Excellence will be located in Nashville.

"Today is an exciting day for our community, as Amazon joins the ranks of global companies such as Nestlé, Boeing and Deloitte who also call Arlington County home," says Rosslyn BID President Mary-Claire Burick. "Amazon’s choice is a testament to the county’s ability to attract highly-educated talent, not to mention our growing tech sector and our proximity to the nation’s capital. The positive economic benefits to Crystal City and the surrounding communities cannot be overstated. The Rosslyn Business Improvement District looks forward to working collaboratively with Arlington County and other regional leaders to welcome Amazon and move the D.C. metro area forward."
